NOTEBOOKING
I have been notebooking with my class for a little over a year now and absolutely love it. I use our InterActive Notebooks (IANs) as an organizational tool in Science and Social Studies, but it also ends up being a great portfolio of student work and progress. Notebooking is not a new idea, nor is it my own creation. Apparently, it got started in the 1980s. I learned about it from a teacher from Beaufort whom I met at a Roper Mountain Science Institute. Eve Heaton has a wonderful web site and blog loaded with lots of notebooking ideas. Many of my ideas came directly from her. Below is her web site:
